My Approach to Therapy
My approach is grounded in the belief that the mind and body have to be working together to effectively move through the experience of life AND enjoy it at the same time. Often we lean heavy on one or the other, leaving us unbalanced and with "symptoms" that bring us to therapy. I have spent many years post-graduate school training in some of the newest cutting-edge forms of therapy that move us far beyond anything just traditional talk therapies could do for us.
Many of my clients land in my office having utilized many forms of change-based therapy styles--CBT, DBT, and hours of "how does that make you feel?", but still yearn for a more fulfilling life and relationships. My style is less focused on blaming symptoms as problematic and trying to change them, and more on understanding them to move more towards an embodied healing experience. Below are some of my primary pathways to help my clients accomplish this.

Mindfulness and Body Awareness: By tuning into the connection between your mind and body, we can uncover the patterns and sensations that often hold the keys to healing. Techniques like Somatic Experiencing and mindfulness-based stress reduction help you develop a deeper understanding of your emotions and experiences.
Trauma-Informed Practices: I specialize in approaches like EMDR and Internal Family Systems (IFS) that gently and effectively address the effects of trauma. These methods allow us to explore and renegotiate protective parts of yourself that may feel stuck, helping you move toward resolution and growth.
Collaborative Exploration: Therapy is a partnership. Together, we’ll work to uncover insights, develop tools, and build resilience, always at a pace that feels right for you. Whether through talk therapy, body-focused techniques, or mindfulness practices, every session is designed to support your goals and honor your unique journey.
My role is to guide and support you as you reconnect with your inner strength and move toward lasting change.
