I am Chris Peters, MA, LMFT
At my core, I'm a healer. My work centers on helping people reconnect with the parts of themselves they’ve had to hide, silence, or forget in order to survive. I believe therapy is not just about coping—but about remembering who you are beneath the pain, the patterns, and the protective walls.
My own healing journey began long before I ever trained as a therapist. I spent years living in major cities across the USA, building a successful career in the tech world—staying in my head, disconnected from my body and feelings. Eventually, I realized that what I truly needed wasn’t more thinking, but more feeling. That shift led me into deeper healing work and, ultimately, to this path.
Outside of the therapy room, I’m a weightlifter, skier, brother, uncle, and dog dad. I find grounding in the woods, joy in fantasy novels, and restoration near water. These pieces of my life support the presence and attunement I bring to my work.
About Me

About My Approach
I’m a trauma-informed, somatically attuned therapist who helps people move from survival mode into deeper connection—with themselves, their bodies, people, and the world around them. My approach blends Internal Family Systems (IFS), EMDR, and somatic therapy to support healing that’s not just intellectual, but embodied and lasting.
I believe meaningful change happens when we stop fighting our symptoms and start listening to them. Many of my clients have spent years in talk therapy or structured modalities like CBT or DBT. These approaches can be helpful, but clients often yearn for deeper healing. If you’ve done the work but still feel stuck, I offer something just a little different.
I’ve completed advanced training in IFS, EMDR, and somatic trauma work, and I continue to refine and deepen my practice through regular consultation and ongoing education. This isn’t just professional development—it’s part of my commitment to showing up fully for my clients with presence, skill, and integrity.
In our work together, we’ll get curious about the protective strategies your system has developed, not to fix or fight them, but to understand and heal. The goal is more than symptom relief—it’s lasting integration, safety, and connection.
What to Expect
Body Awareness: By tuning into the connection between your mind and body, we can uncover the patterns and sensations that often hold the keys to healing. Techniques like Somatic Experiencing and mindfulness-based stress reduction help you develop a deeper understanding of your emotions and experiences.
Trauma-Informed Practices: I specialize in approaches like EMDR and Internal Family Systems (IFS) that gently and effectively address the effects of trauma. These methods allow us to explore and renegotiate protective parts of yourself that may feel stuck, helping you move toward resolution and growth.
Collaborative Exploration: Therapy is a partnership. Together, we’ll work to uncover insights, develop tools, and build resilience, always at a pace that feels right for you. Whether through talk therapy, body-focused techniques, or mindfulness practices, every session is designed to support your goals and honor your unique journey.
My role is to guide and support you as you reconnect with your inner strength and move toward lasting change.
