Find Calm and Clarity with an IFS Therapist in Chicago, IL
You don’t have to navigate emotional overwhelm or deep-rooted patterns alone. If you’re searching for a compassionate IFS therapist in Chicago, I’m here to help you reconnect with the parts of yourself that need healing—and rediscover the peace already within you.

About Chris Peters, MA, LMFT
Hi, I’m Chris, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and founder of Chris Peters Psychotherapy. My path to becoming a therapist began after a career in the tech world—so I understand firsthand the pressure of high expectations and the weight of invisible wounds. Today, I work with LGBTQ+ individuals, trauma survivors, and professionals facing life transitions. I integrate Internal Family Systems (IFS), EMDR, and somatic approaches to gently guide you toward healing, empowerment, and authentic connection.
The Real-Life Struggles That Lead People to Therapy
Many of my clients describe feeling emotionally drained, stuck in people-pleasing or overthinking, or struggling to connect in relationships. These patterns often trace back to trauma or chronic stress—especially for LGBTQ+ individuals, who may have faced subtle (or not-so-subtle) invalidation over time.
As an IFS therapist, I don’t view these struggles as problems to be “fixed.” Instead, I help you listen to and understand the protective parts of yourself that have worked hard to keep you safe. With time, those parts can soften, and you can begin living from a more centered, confident place.
